The way has been cleared for merging three municipal corporations into one in Delhi. On Tuesday, the Rajya Sabha also approved the proposal presented by the Central Government. Earlier this resolution has been passed in Lok Sabha. Now this proposal has been sent to President Ram Nath Kovind for final approval. Delhi South, East and North MCD will be merged as soon as the President’s approval is received.
However, this proposal has been strongly opposed by the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party running the state government in Delhi under the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal. While the BJP is in power in these three municipal corporations, the Congress is present as the main opposition. On the contrary, the Aam Aadmi Party is staking its claim on these three MCDs in the upcoming municipal elections.
Due to this, both the parties are terming the move of the BJP-led central government as political, but the central government has claimed proper administration and proper utilization of funds by merging all three corporations into one. Till now the three corporations have been working separately. While South MCD is considered to be the richest corporation of the three in terms of tax collection, North MCD has always been short of funds.

The IB ministry has blocked 22 YouTube channels on Tuesday. Among them there are 4 Pakistan based YouTube news channels. The ministry said that these channels were spreading propaganda about India’s security, public order and foreign relations. This is the first time that 18 Indian YouTube channels have been banned under the IT Rules, 2021.
These include Indian channels like ARP News, Sarkari Babu, Online Khabar, DP News, Kisan Tak, Bharat Mausam, Din Bhar Ki Khabar, DG Gurukul. On the other hand, there is the name of Pakistan’s world ahead of me, Ghulam Nabi Madani, Haqeeqat TV, Haqeeqat TV 2.0. Apart from these, 3 Twitter accounts, a Facebook account and a news website have also been blocked.
ED attaches assets of Sanjay Raut

3 died due to electrocution in Jaisalmer
The accident happened near Polji Ki Dehri village, located about 17 km from Jaisalmer.
On Tuesday, a bus was struck by an electric shock in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. The passengers sitting in the bus were going to see the Mother Goddess on Navratri. After the space in the bus was filled, some people were also sitting on the roof. These people came in contact with the electric wire. Three passengers died on the spot, while 8 people are serious.

Bollywood actor Salman Khan gets double relief from court
The court had issued summons to appear on April 5.
Bollywood actor Salman Khan has got relief from Bombay High Court. In 2019, he was summoned by the lower court in the case of misbehavior with a journalist. Today the High Court has put a stay on this till May 5. In the same case, the Magistrate Court granted him exemption from personal appearance till May 9. The civil court had issued summons to Salman and his bodyguard Nawaz Sheikh to appear in the court on April 5 in the journalist case.
LIC’s IPO may launch in early May
The central government may bring an initial public offer (IPO) of Life Insurance Corporation in early May this year. According to media reports, the government is in touch with bankers and financial advisors on the Red Herring Prospectus (RHP). RHP is the offer document that a company files with the Securities Exchange Board of India (SEBI) before launching an IPO. It is filed after the Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP).
RHP contains information about the price band and number of shares. The government’s plan was to launch an IPO by March 2022, but due to the Russia-Ukraine war, market sentiments turned negative and the government went into wait and watch mode.
