A big relief has been announced by the Railways for the railway passengers on Thursday. Giving relief to the passengers, Indian Railways has issued orders to resume the service of providing bedsheets, blankets and curtains inside trains. These facilities were suspended during the Corona period due to the increasing effect of corona infection.

In an order issued to the General Managers of all Railway Zones, the Railway Board said that the supply of these items should be resumed with immediate effect. Sealed covers will include pillows, blankets, sheets and towels. Before this, many facilities including food have been started again. The railways, which had also suspended most of its concessions on food services and tickets on trains, has resumed most of these facilities. However, concessions on tickets for passengers are suspended.

Significantly, in an effort to stop the spread of Corona, the Railways announced in May 2020 that it would not distribute blankets and curtains in air-conditioned coaches of all trains. Passengers were advised to bring their own blankets and bedsheets on long journeys. Along with this, it was instructed that the minimum temperature in the coaches of the train should be set at 24-25 degree Celsius.

Due to non-availability of blankets and bedsheets, people were demanding it for a long time. Due to not getting these facilities, people were facing lot of problems. There were many such people who, due to not getting all these facilities in the train, started giving preference to travel by plane. At the same time, there is not much difference in the fare of AC of train and aircraft.
