Akash Deep replaced Shivam Mavi in the men’s team as Pooja Vastrakarcame in for Anjali Sarvani.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India on Saturday announced changes to the Indian men’s and women’s cricket team for the 19th Aisan Games, which is being held in Hangzhou.

The BCCI men’s selection committee named Akash Deep as replacement for Shivam Mavi in the Indian squad for Asian Games.

Mavi is suffering from a back injury and is ruled out of the tournament. The men’s cricket competition will take place from 28th September to 8th October in a T20 format.

Meanwhile, the BCCI women’s selection committee named Pooja Vastrakar, who was earlier a part of the standby list of players, as a replacement for Anjali Sarvani at the Asian Games.

Sarvani, a left-arm pacer, suffered a knee injury and has been ruled out of the event.

Standby list of players: Yash Thakur, Sai Kishore, Venkatesh Iyer, Deepak Hooda, Sai Sudarsan.

Standby list of players: Harleen Deol, Kashvee Gautam, Sneh Rana, Saika Ishaque.

Cricket be played in the T20 format at Zhejiang University of Technology Pingfeng Cricket Field.

The Indian men’s cricket team will start their Asian Games campaign in the quarter-final stage on October 3, while the semi-finals and gold medal match are scheduled on October 6 and 7, respectively. The Indian women’s team, on the other hand, start from the quarter-finals on September 21. The semi-finals and the gold medal match will be played on September 24 and 25, respectively.
