In observance of Bakr Eid or Eid-Al-Adha banks will be closed on June 28 and June 29 in different states across the country. In June 2023, banks in various states will observe a total of 12 days of holidays, which includes all Sundays as well as the second and fourth Saturdays. It’s important to note that bank holidays may vary depending on the state.
Cities observing a bank holiday on June 28 for Eid-Al-Adha or Bakr Eid are Belapur, Jammu, Kochi, Mumbai, Nagpur, Srinagar, and Thiruvananthapuram. Cities observing a bank holiday on June 29 for Eid-Al-Adha or Bakr Eid are New Delhi, Srinagar, Chandigarh, Imphal, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Agartala, Bengaluru, Aizawl, Panaji, Patna, Chennai, Dehradun, Hyderabad, Ranchi, Jammu, Kolkata, Lucknow, Shillong, Shimla, Bhopal, Guwahati, Kanpur.
Throughout the month of June, banks will remain closed on various occasions to honor different festivities. These occasions include Y.M.A. Day/Raja Sankranti, Kang (Rathajatra)/Ratha Yatra, Kharchi Puja, Bakri Eid (Eid-Ul-Zuha), and Remna Ni/Id-Ul-Zuha.

According to the Reserve Bank’s calendarapart from the weekends, there are 8 bank holidays in July. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) puts holidays under three categories- Holiday under the Negotiable Instruments Act; Holidays under the Negotiable Instruments Act and Real-Time Gross Settlement Holidays; and Banks’ Closing of Accounts.
Bank-related work will not pose any inconvenience to people as essential services like ATMs, cash deposits, online banking, and mobile banking will continue to operate during these holidays.
