The workers of Bajrang Dal got agitated over the banning of Bajrang Dal in the Congress manifesto in Karnataka. In Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur on Thursday, Bajrang Dal workers attacked the district Congress office. The protesters who forcibly entered the office ransacked it. The poster of senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi put up outside the office was also torn. Police force has been deployed outside the Congress office after the incident. Police has detained Bajrang Dal campaigner Sumit Singh Thakur in this case, search is on for other accused.

Congress has condemned this development. State Congress President Kamal Nath has demanded strict action against the vandalists. Former minister Tarun Bhanot lodged a complaint at the Lardganj police station. In this case, the police have registered a case against five people. The Congress has warned that if the in-charge of Lardganj and Kotwali police station is not suspended, then Jabalpur will be closed.

On Thursday afternoon, more than a hundred workers of Bajrang Dal gathered outside the District Congress Committee office. Slogans were raised against the Congress here. Then broke the lock outside the office and entered inside. Everyone had sticks and poles in their hands. They also kicked at the gate of the office. Then entered inside and created ruckus. Meanwhile, some of the protesters climbed the stairs and started to dismantle the tinshed. Police reached the spot and chased away the protesters.

Bajrang Dal official Sumit Thakur, on the contrary, has accused the Congress workers only. He told that the vandalism and ruckus in the Congress office was done by the Congress workers only. When Bajrang Dal workers reached there to protest, Congress workers in saffron costumes reached there. Simultaneously, entered the office and started vandalizing it. He told that Bajrang Dal never acts like this.

Congressmen reached the police station, demanding action

Congress MLA and former minister Tarun Bhanot, Lakhan Ghanghoria, MLA Vinay Saxena along with Mayor and Congress President Jagat Bahadur Singh Annu also reached Kotwali police station after the incident. Here the SDM along with three additional SPs of the city were present on the spot. Congress workers have demanded action against the vandalists.

SP Tusharkant Vidyarti said that Congress is registering cases against those who broke the lock of the office and ransacked it. The accused are being identified by looking at the video footage.

State Congress President Kamal Nath has strongly condemned the attack on the Congress office in Jabalpur. He alleged that the police did not take any special action to stop the Bajrang Dal workers. Kamal Nath asked whether the government and the BJP have given up all democratic methods and have made up their mind to launch a direct attack on the Congress party after being completely uprooted among the public? Kamal Nath has demanded strict action against the attackers.

He alleged that BJP people are carrying rifles and attacking. The Chief Minister is not ready to take action, but is giving them protection. They want to strangle democracy and contest elections on the strength of sticks. The public will give them a befitting reply in the next elections.
