Sharjeel Imam has filed a bail application in Delhi’s Karkardooma Court. In which the offense of sedition was also included under Section 124A of the IPC. In his petition, Sharjeel has cited the order of the Supreme Court and said that the Central Government has also been asked to postpone the Sedition Act till it is reconsidered. A case was registered against Imam by Delhi Police under FIR 22/2020. At the same time, sedition was added later under UAPA.

Sharjeel has taken this step after the High Court on Thursday allowed him to approach the lower court for interim bail.
