Avneet Kaur is one of the most popular faces from the television industry. Starting her career with dance reality shows like ‘Dance India Dance Li’l Masters’ where she reached the semi-finals, Kaur made her acting debut with the TV show ‘Meri Maa’ where she played a small role, but she gained significant recognition for her role as young Rajkumari Damyanti in ‘Savitri,’ young Pakhi in ‘Ek Mutthi Aasmaan, and especially for her portrayal of Princess Charumati in ‘Chandra Nandini.’ In addition to this, Avneet Kaur has also been part of mainstream Bollywood movies like Mardaani 2 and Tiku Weds Sheru. The actress revealed in a recent interview about how she auditioned for two Aamir Khan films but she couldn’t make it.
On Wednesday, Avneet Kaur shared a picture with Mr Perfectionist and wrote in her caption, “#AboutLastNight at the premiere of Laapata ladies, I met the perfectionist and one of my favourite actor Aamir Khan Sir and what you see in the photograph above is the time I met him first. I auditioned and did workshops for two of his films, Dangal and secret superstar. Unfortunately I could not make it through, but he did tell me that he loved my auditions and that meant so much to me (sic).”
Meanwhile, Avneet Kaur made headlines last year for kissing Nawazuddin Siddiqui in Tiku Weds Sheru. Nawazuddin and Avneet’s lip-lock scene in the movie shocked a section of netizens, owing to the age gap between the two actors. While Nawazuddin was 49 at that time, Avneet turned 21 in October of 2022.
Reacting to the controversy, Nawazuddin told India Today.in, “Why will there be a problem? Romance is ageless. The problem is that the young men have no romance left. We are from the times when romance was something else. We would be in love and be in ‘ishq’ for years. Today, Shah Rukh Khan continues to do romantic roles because the young generation is ‘nalli’ (useless). They don’t know romance.”
