Atishi Alleges Raids on Sisodia ‘Orchestrated’ by PMO as CBI Says No Lookout Circular Against Deputy CM | Updates

Manish Sisodia CBI Raids Updates: The Central Bureau of Investigation has not issued a Look Out Circular “as of now” against any accused including Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in the excise policy scam case, officials said Sunday. They said the process of scrutinising documents is going on and notices are being issued to suspects for questioning, they said.

This comes after Sisodia claimed a lookout notice against him in the excise policy case being probed by the CBI and termed the move a “drama” as the agency found “nothing” during a raid at his residence on Friday. “As of now” no Look Out Circulars (LOC) have been issued against any of the accused in the case, the officials said.

The BJP and AAP on Saturday exchanged barbs over the CBI raids related to the alleged liquor scam in Delhi at Deputy CM Manish Sisodia’s residence. Sisodia rubbished the corruption allegations made in the CBI FIR and said that the probe agency was working under the directions of BJP-led central government.

Here are the latest updates in the story:

– BJP MP Parvesh Verma dragged Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao in the ongoing row over the now-scrapped Delhi excise policy, claiming his family members attended meetings on its formulation at a five-star hotel in the national capital. Verma said Telangana has a “similar” excise policy and it has been implemented in West Bengal too. “Telangana CM K Chandrashekar Rao’s family members attended meetings on the formulation of the Delhi excise policy at a hotel. KCR’s family members got same the policy implemented in Punjab. They prepared a plan for Delhi along with Manish Sisodia and Arvind Kejriwal,” Verma alleged.

– Manish Sisodia hit out at PM Narendra Modi as he shared an old video of the prime minister attacking the politicisation of the CBI. “Regarding CBI raids, one must listen to what Modi has to say. If you will not listen then you will miss out on a very important truth,” Sisodia wrote in a tweet sharing the video of PM attacking CBI.

– Union Minister Anurag Thakur on Sunday said that Kejriwal model has failed in Delhi and corruption has reached its peak. “The taking back of excise policy in Delhi after CBI’s raid proves corruption has happened… Kingpin Arvind Kejriwal will have to answer for this,” he said.

– Manish Sisodia attacked the government on the lookout notice issued against him despite the fact that the CBI raids didn’t found any discrepancies or irregularities. “What gimmick is this Modi ji. I am freely roaming in Delhi, tell me where should I come? Are you unable to find me?” Sisodia said in a tweet.

– As AAP leaders have begun projecting their party chief Arvind Kejriwal as an alternative to PM Narendra Modi in the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, BJP MP Parvesh Verma on Saturday hit back saying claims made by “four people” should not be taken seriously. “This is being said by four AAP members -Saurabh Bhardwaj, Sanjay Singh, Atishi and Raghav Chadha. Who else is saying this?” Verma said at a press conference.

– Manish Sisodia on Sunday took a dig at the BJP and said that every moment he spends with children in Delhi schools gives him courage and strength and no conspiracy can stop him from working for them. Sharing a video on Twitter where the deputy CM can be seen interacting with students, he wrote, “Every moment spent with children in Delhi schools gives me courage and strength. For the future of the children, the leaders of Arvind Kejriwal are willing to sacrifice anything. No conspiracy in the world will stop us from working for them.”

– The Central Bureau of Investigation had secured prior mandatory approval of the President of India before filing a corruption case against Manish Sisodia in connection with alleged irregularities in Delhi government’s excise policy 2021-22, a report in Hindustan Times said.

– The CBI FIR also alleged that at least four people, who were not part of the administration, were “actively involved in irregularities in framing and implementation” of the excise policy.

– The BJP is repeating its lies about Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia hoping people will eventually believe those as the outcome of the CBI’s 15-hour raid at his residence and 30 locations across India was “zero”, the AAP alleged Saturday. Hitting back at Union Minister Anurag Thakur for calling CM Arvind Kejriwal “kingpin of irregularities” in the Delhi Excise Policy, the AAP said the country is watching how Prime Minister Narendra Modi is “misusing” the central probe agencies to “harass” the Delhi government.

– Sisodia also expressed apprehension that the agency or the ED may arrest him in the next 3-4 days and alleged that it was part of the “script to stop Kejriwal who has emerged as a national alternative” to Modi.

– Chief Minister Kejriwal, who has been aggressively taking on the BJP in Modi’s home state, announced on Twitter that he will be touring Gujarat with Sisodia from Monday.

– Union Minister Anurag Thakur hit out at AAP and claimed the Aam Aadmi Party’s “real face has been unmasked” and referred to the deputy chief minister as “Money Shh”, alleging that he “makes money and maintains silence”.

– Delhi Congress leaders and workers staged a protest outside the Aam Admi Party office, demanding the resignation of Sisodia. The protesters marched from the Delhi Congress office at DDU Marg towards AAP headquarters raising slogans against Kejriwal and Sisodia.
