GUWAHATI: Assam reported first Omicron case on Wednesday.
Health minister Keshab Mahanta said that the 35-year-old man from Hojai had traveled from Saudi Arabia. The person meanwhile has tested negative for the infection, the minister said.
Sample of a 13-year-old boy from Digaru in Assam had tested positive for Omicron on Tuesday but the sample was collected in Meghalaya when he had gone there with his family.
