This is the Bhimashankar Temple in Pune, Maharashtra, which is known as the sixth Jyotirlinga.

A dispute has erupted between the Assam government and the opposition parties of Maharashtra regarding the country’s sixth Jyatirlinga Bhimashankar. The Assam government issued an advertisement on 14 February, asking pilgrims and tourists to visit Assam for the festival of Mahashivaratri. It was written in the advertisement that the sixth Jyotirlinga is located in Dakini Hills (Dakini mountain range) in Kamrup, Assam.

Maharashtra’s National Congress Party (NCP) and Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena have targeted the BJP regarding this advertisement. These parties have to say that everyone knows that the sixth Jyotirlinga Bhimashankar temple is in Pune, Maharashtra, then why did the Assam government issue such an advertisement. Maharashtra Congress leader Sachin Sawant has said that till now other state governments of BJP were stealing the investors of Maharashtra, now efforts are being made to take away the religious center.

The Assam government had issued this advertisement on Tuesday in which the sixth Jyotirlinga out of the 12 Jyotirlingas in the country was mentioned in Kamrup in Assam. For this, the NCP and the Uddhav faction have targeted the BJP. They say that the sixth Jyotirlinga is in Pune.

The Assam government had issued an advertisement on Tuesday in which it was written that you are welcome to the country’s sixth Jyotirlinga located on the Dakini mountain range in Kamrup, Assam. The name of all the 12 Jyotirlingas was also given in this advertisement, in which all other Jyotirlingas were named except the Bhimashankar temple in Pune. The temple built at Kamrup in Assam in place of the Bhimashankar temple was said to be the sixth Jyotirlinga.

Supriya Sule said- everyone knows that the sixth Jyotirlinga is in Pune
In this matter, NCP MP Supriya Sule said that have the BJP leaders decided that they will not allow anything to remain in the part of Maharashtra? First the industry and employment of the part of Maharashtra was taken away and now it is preparing to steal our cultural and spiritual heritage.

He told that the Bhimashankar Temple located in Pune, Maharashtra is known as the sixth of the 12 Jyotirlingas in the country. Built on a beautiful location, this temple is a place of worship for innumerable devotees. But the BJP-ruled Assam has started promoting the Shivling at Pamohi near Guwahati as the sixth Jyotirlinga. These are absolutely false things.

Supriya Sule has demanded Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde to lodge an objection with the Chief Minister of Assam.

Sule quoted Adya Shankaracharya’s Brihat Ratnakar Stotra
Supriya Sule said that Shrimad Adya Shankaracharya has clearly written in his Brihat Ratnakar Stotra that Bhimashankar Jyotirlinga is the origin of Bhima river and Dakini forests. That’s why Bhimashankar Temple of Pune is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas. What needs to be proved now?

Sule said that we demand Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde to take cognizance of this matter to save the cultural and spiritual heritage of the state. He also demanded Eknath Shinde to inform the Chief Minister of Assam about this and register his objection.
