‘As Elder Brother, Sunny Deol Left No Opportunity To Assert His Superiority’: Bobby Deol – News18

Animal will hit the theatres on December 1.

At the Jagran Film Festival, Bobby Deol shared his various personal anecdotes. Among these, he shed light on his relationship with his elder brother, Sunny Deol.

Hailing from the lineage of legendary actor Dharmendra and his first wife, Prakash Kaur, Bobby Deol has emerged as a prominent actor of his generation. His impressive journey began with a grand debut in the 1995 film Barsaat. Subsequently, he left a lasting impact on the silver screen with notable performances in movies such as Soldier, Gupt, Ajnabee, Apne, Humraaz and more.

At the Jagran Film Festival, Bobby Deol shared his various personal anecdotes. Among these, he shed light on his relationship with his elder brother, Sunny Deol, and discussed Sunny’s influence on his life. Bobby described Sunny as a blessing and admitted that initially, he felt that Sunny deliberately asserted his elder status to boss him around. But with time, he came to realise his love and care for him.

Reflecting on his relationship with his elder brother, Bobby Deol said, “Because Sunny was 10 years older than me, he left no opportunity to assert his superiority in every aspect. Despite his academic struggles, he consistently pushed me to excel in my studies, which puzzled me at the time. I couldn’t comprehend why he was so invested in my academic performance when he was just my brother, not my father. Looking back, I feel incredibly fortunate to have him.”

At the same event, Bobby addressed the challenges they’ve confronted in life, even though they are widely recognised as successful actors. He noted that they managed to overcome the most arduous phase of their lives through sheer persistence. Bobby also acknowledged the unwavering support of his brother, Sunny.

Bobby noted, “Our challenges may be viewed differently due to our celebrity status, but the reality is that everyone experiences life’s ups and downs. The key to dealing with failure is persistence. My brother is a very compassionate person who has consistently been there for me. During tough times, I remember his advice to approach our careers with the mindset of newcomers and put in the hard work.”

Bobby Deol is soon going to star in a slew of upcoming films including Animal, Penthouse, Kanguva, Apne 2, Welcome to the Jungle, Desi Sherlock and Hari Hara Veera Mallu, to name a few.

Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Animal stars Ranbir Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Rashmika Mandanna, Triptii Dimri, and Anil Kapoor in lead roles. Touted to be an action-crime drama, the film will hit the theatres on December 1.
