Arvind Kejriwal in Punjab today: Will campaign for Lok Sabha by-elections in Sangrur; Aam Aadmi Party trying to save the only seat

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal will be on a Punjab tour on Monday. He will campaign for the party in the by-elections to the Sangrur Lok Sabha seat. Kejriwal along with Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann will take out a road show from Sangrur to Barnala.

This was the only Lok Sabha seat with the party across the country, which has fallen vacant after the resignation of Bhagwant Mann. The party has put all its strength to save it. AAP has given ticket to district in-charge Gurmel Singh from Sangrur.

CM Mann stays in Sangrur, Sisodia has campaigned
CM Bhagwant Mann is standing in Sangrur Lok Sabha only. He has been an MP from here for two consecutive terms. Apart from this, ministers of the Punjab government are also campaigning here. Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia has also campaigned here. AAP has engaged all the MLAs of Punjab on campaigning from village to village.

Difficulties increased after Musewala massacre
Sangrur seat was considered safe for the Aam Aadmi Party. However, the party’s troubles have increased after the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala late last month. Moosewala was killed the very next day after the AAP government of Punjab withdrew the security. However, the two gunmen he met at the time of the murder were also not with him. Youth is angry with AAP after Moosewala’s murder. He is supporting SAD Amritsar Simranjit Mann.
