Arrested Maoist leader Buddheshwar suffering from cerebral stroke, admitted to SSKM

Maoist leader Buddheshwar Mahato arrested in Shilda case seriously ill. He was admitted to SSKM Hospital in Kolkata last Sunday in critical condition. He was admitted to hospital due to cerebral stroke. According to hospital sources, the Maoist leader also has kidney problems. His physical condition is still not good.

According to jail sources, when his physical condition deteriorated in the Presidency Jail last Sunday, he was admitted to SSKM Hospital on the same day. It is known that his diet is specific due to physical illness. But on Sunday he ate some forbidden food outside the food list. Soon after that he fell ill and lost consciousness. Jail authorities claim that he suffered a stroke. After that he was admitted to the hospital. It was possible to save Buddhashwar due to the efforts of the jail authorities. However, the doctors said that his physical condition is still not stable.

Incidentally, on February 15, 2010, 24 jawans were killed in a Maoist attack on the EFR camp in Shilda, Jhargram. Buddheshwar was arrested by the police from Jharkhand in that incident. He was one of the accused in this incident. There are also allegations against Budheshwar in several other cases. He was first kept in Medinipur Correctional Facility and later in Presidency Jail. Jail authorities claim that Budheshwar has kidney problems. For that reason he was regularly taken to SSKM Hospital for dialysis. He has already undergone 362 dialysis.
