Today is the third day of the four-day Chhath Puja associated with Sun worship. In the evening, in many cities of the country and abroad including Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Arghya will be offered to the setting sun. All the preparations have been completed for this. The next day i.e. on Monday morning, the Chhath Puja fast will be completed by offering Arghya to the rising sun. Prime Minister Narendra Modi greeted the countrymen on the occasion of Chhath Puja.

The festival started with Nahay Khay
Chhath festival started on 28 October with Nahay Khay. Kharna was to be held on the second day i.e. 29 October. This Mahaparv is mainly celebrated in Bihar, Jharkhand and Eastern Uttar Pradesh, but gradually it has started expanding all over the country and the world.

Crowds also gathered at the Ganga Ghats in Patna
The Ganga Ghats of the capital, especially Collectorate Ghat, Darbhanga House, Kali Ghat, Rani Ghat, Gandhi Ghat, Law College Ghat, Gay Ghat, Patna College Ghat, Digha No. 95 Ghat, Pati Pul Ghat, Ghat near Digha Bridge on many Ganga Ghats including All arrangements have been made for the convenience of the devotees.

Apart from people from 20 to 25 localities, men and women from Bihar and outside states reach the Shiv Mandir Ghat in the block complex of Phulwari Sharif in Patna to observe Chhath fast. Read full news here…

He had inspired them to learn Chhath Geet.

Sixth and Saptami Tithi of Shukla Paksha in the month of Kartik is holy
Mainly the sixth and Saptami tithi of Shukla Paksha of Kartik month is considered to be the most sacred. This day is considered to be the date of the Sun God. There is a law of worshiping the sun on the sixth and the seventh day. On the day of Kartik Shukla Shashthi, fasting women fast and in the evening stand in a river or pond and offer Arghya to the setting sun. Worshiping the Sun especially on the Saptami Tithi of Shukla Paksha is considered holy. That is why on the day of Saptami, worship is done by offering arghya to the rising sun i.e. the rising sun.

Lord Kartikeya was born on Shashthi Tithi
He told that Kartikeya was born on Shashthi Tithi and on Shashthi Tithi he was made the commander of the gods. Therefore, Shashti Tithi is the most important in his life. In Navratri, there is a law of 9 days in Durga Puja and each day a form of Durga is worshipped. Durgaji is worshiped in the form of Skandmata on the fifth day. Thus Parvati ji has been worshiped in the form of Skandmata for centuries.
