There are 22 upper-caste vice chancellors in 30 state universities of Uttar Pradesh. That is, more than 73%. Backward class, ie OBC has 6, if we take out the percentage, then 20%. UGC selection process has not yet reached UP
The rules made by the University Grants Commission, ie UGC, to choose the Vice-Chancellor, have not been implemented in UP till date. Before we tell you what we found, we want to know your opinion.

Every time by forming a search committee, the governor himself chooses the chairman.
Instead of UGC, the Governor House makes a search committee of 3 members every time to choose the Vice-Chancellor. Its chairman is chosen by the governor himself. Apart from this, there is a Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court or a member nominated by him. Then the University of which the Vice-Chancellor is to be elected, has a member of its Executive Council.
The committee gives advertisements to the newspapers that the post of the Vice-Chancellor is vacant, but… This committee issues advertisements that the post of the Vice-Chancellor is vacant, send the resume. According to this advertisement, the entire paper-paper and interview go on. In the end, the committee selects 2 to 5 names and informs the governor. It will take 3 months, it is written in the advertisement, but it does not happen. Even after everything is done, sometimes the Vice-Chancellor is not able to be fixed for six months.
No one tells openly, but every time the same VC is not made, which is given by the name committee.

Why only 1 SC Vice Chancellor in 30?

Somehow in the year 2020, TV Kattimani was appointed as the first Vice Chancellor of the Central Tribal University of Andhra Pradesh. At present, he is the only Scheduled Caste Vice Chancellor to be appointed in Central Universities.
