Apple Watch Series 10 will be looking to improve on the health features, bring new performance boost but will it miss out on AI?

Apple is gearing up to unveil the next-generation Watch Series 10 alongside the much-anticipated iPhone 16 series next month. As the September launch approaches, new reports highlight several exciting upgrades expected in the upcoming smartwatch, including a larger display, a new chip, and potentially a new health sensor.

According to a report by 9To5Mac, both smaller and larger models of the upcoming Watch Series 10 will be equipped with a bigger display. The smaller which currently measures 44mm will be increased to 45mm, while, the larger which measures 45mm will increase to 49mm, which matches the size of the current model Apple Watch Ultra.

Additionally, the report suggests that both models will feature a new streamlined design with a slimmer case. This might be a good shift, as larger displays would have made the Apple Watch bulkier given the current generation’s thickness.

The Apple Watch Series 10 is expected to be equipped with a low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) technology for its OLED display which will enable the display to dynamically adapt its refresh rate based on usage, thereby conserving battery life.

Talking about its performance upgrade, Apple is likely to introduce a new chip to its Watch Series 10, dubbed as S10, which is anticipated to come with a Neural Engine providing better artificial intelligence processing capabilities.

However, the tech giant has no plans to deploy artificial intelligence features to its upcoming smartwatch Series 10, but the new processor will prepare the Watch for future AI feature rollouts.

Also, as per the report, the Watch Series 10 will come with a new health censor which will help users with hypertension detection and sleep apnea detection. However, recent rumours suggested doubts about whether these health features will be available in the upcoming watch. Currently, the Apple Watch Series 9 (GPS) costs Rs 41,900 while the Watch Series 9 (GPS + Cellular) is priced at Rs 51,900.

Meanwhile, Apple has still not announced the official launch date of its Watch Series 10 and the iPhone 16 series.
