Apple Music users were able to access the content using their voice

Apple Music users could access all their playlist and album using voice commands by paying a small monthly fee.

Apple’s latest tryst with Siri the voice assistant has ended after 2 years since its launch. The company had announced a special Siri-only voice offering for Apple Music users back in October 2021 that is now shutting down, most likely because people weren’t really keen on spending $5 (Rs 413 approx) for this special plan.

Recently, it was spotted that the Apple Music Voice plan was no longer listed on Apple Music subscription page which more or less confirms its demise. In fact, Apple has created a support page to inform the Voice plan subscribers about the change and what they will have to do to continue using Apple Music after November which is already in play.

Those who have paid for the voice plan can continue using till their subscription ends but after that they will need to pay for the regular Apple Music plans.

Apple says it would rather focus on other Apple Music features like spatial audio, karaoke with lyrics and discovery among others. The company wants to make Siri the universal part of all the Apple Music plans from here on, and it promises to improve the experience going further.

So what is the voice plan for Apple Music users that is now winding up? Apple basically used this plan to help Siri get more mileage and run-time, giving people the power to access music, playlist, albums on Apple Music just using their voice.

But Apple couldn’t add other popular features like lossless audio quality, offline listening support and more, which may have also contributed to its downfall when you are being charged $5 every month. The voice plan was also limited to select markets like the US and people in India never got a chance to try it and will never get it anymore.

Having said that, the company doesn’t need to fret about this move as the iPhone sales continue to rack up the coffers with billions already in the company’s account. India is also becoming a vital cog of Apple’s overall growth mostly thanks to the sales and demand for old iPhone models.
