Cupertino, California, USA

Apple has released a trio of app for Windows 10 and later.

Apple’s Music, TV, and Devices were in preview for a while, but they have now been finally released for Windows 10 and later.

Apple is finally bringing its Apple Music, Apple Devices, and Apple Music apps for Windows PC. These apps have been in the preview stage for a while now, but are finally being released as stable apps on Windows—potentially bringing an end to iTunes dependancy for iPhone users.

“In Windows 10 and later, you can access your music, video content, and Apple devices in their own dedicated apps: Apple Music app, Apple TV app, and Apple Devices app. If your PC doesn’t support these apps, you can continue to use iTunes for Windows,” Apple said.

As spotted by MacRumors, these apps now offer Windows users a Mac-like experience wherein all apps are separate and not part of Macs.

These apps were released as previews in January 2023, and so far, Apple has been updating them ever since their release.

As the name suggests, the Apple Music app on Windows will give users access to their iTunes library and even their purchases. Plus, the Apple Music app will let users play the movies and TV shows that were in their iTunes.

And of course, you can use Apple’s streaming services for both Apple Music and TV if you download these apps on Windows. Apple also notes that “once you download the Apple Music app, Apple TV app, and Apple Devices app, you won’t see any of your music or video content in iTunes.” Further, users won’t be able to “use iTunes to manually sync and manage your iPhone or iPad. You can use iTunes to access only your podcasts and audiobooks.”

Then, there’s also the Apple Devices app—designed for iPhone or iPad users using Windows devices to backup, update, and restore them.

These apps must be used with Windows 10 and later, and in order to be used, all three apps must be installed. Secondly, the iTunes library should be kept in place, considering they are used by Apple Music and Apple TV.
