Apple rewards its employees with a special memento after they have completed 10 years of service along with a message from Apple CEO Tim Cook.

Apple is considered one of the finest places to work at, and is a “dream company” for many due to various reasons beyond its competitive pay packages, flexible work environment, office amenities, good in-office food, equity benefits, overtime pay, and a 40-hour work week. The brand is notably supportive of its employees—valuing their hard work in fostering the company’s success.

But, did you know that Apple also rewards its employees with a solid metal memento after they have completed ten years of service? This award is not for sale and is only given to employees who have been with the company for ten years or more. This makes it a truly unique and valuable item. The award is made of metal with chamfered edges and features a glossy Apple logo in the center. The employee’s name and the date they completed ten years of service are also etched on it.

In addition, the unboxing experience is just as luxurious as unboxing an Apple product. The box opens up in a similar way to an Apple Watch Ultra box, and once opened, the user is greeted by a message from Apple CEO Tim Cook.

In the past, other employees have shared their awards as well, but images and videos of the most recent one come courtesy of Marcos Alonso, Human Interface designer at Apple. Alonso shared his achievement with the world—posting images and a video of the unboxing experience, which also reveals the message written by Tim Cook on X.

Tim Cook’s message reads as follows:

“Congratulations on reaching this milestone moment. The work you’ve done, the challenges you’ve met and the breakthroughs you’ve made possible-they all add up to a profound and lasting contribution to Apple’s mission to change the world for the better. On behalf of everyone at Apple, thank you for all you bring to our journey together.”

Ends with Tim Cook’s signature.

It is certainly heartening to see companies like Apple go the extra mile to take care of their employees, especially when public perception of companies like Infosys has turned sour due to infamous comments such as promoting a 70-hour work week by founder Narayana Murty, which have been discouraged on social media. Apple reportedly ranks fourth in Forbes’ World’s Best Employers report, with employees expected to work 8 hours a day and 40 hours a week.
