apple: Apple AirPods Pro second-generation will reportedly offer lossless audio support – Times of India

Apple is expected to launch the next-generation AirPods Pro later this year. Several leaks and rumours about the TWS earbuds have already surfaced online giving us a glimpse at the design and some of its features.
Now, a new report by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo suggests that the upcoming earbuds might feature Lossless Audio Codec (ALAC). Apart from that, the second-generation AirPods Pro might also come with a new case that can emit sound, to make it easier for users to find.
Those who don’t know, none of the Apple AirPods currently support lossless audio and if the news is believed to be true, the AirPods Pro will become among the first TWS earbuds to offer the ALAC support.
Lossless audio is an audio compression technology or let’s say uncompressed audio codec that preserves all the data of the original audio file. This means it carries more details and audio data than the regular MP3 file format.
To implement a codec like this, faster and more bandwidth wireless connection is required and as per a recent report, Apple might ditch the Bluetooth technology in the future AirPods for other wireless solutions that offer more bandwidth.
