Anushka Sharma and Alia Bhatt seems to have given the Karwa Chauth fast a miss this year. Anushka, who is married to Virat Kohli, has been making the headlines for her rumoured pregnancy. While she has not addressed the speculations around the pregnancy, fans believe they spotted her with a baby bump at the India vs Pakistan World Cup match. Amid these speculations, Anushka took to her Instagram Stories and hinted that she is not observing the Karwa Chauth fast this year.
The actress shared a picture of a snack she was munching on in the afternoon and seemingly confirmed she is skipping the fast this year. “Slurp slurp,” she captioned the photo.
On the other hand, Alia also hinted that she is not fasting today. The actress, who is married to Ranbir Kapoor, was spotted out and about in the city. In one of the videos shared by a paparazzo, Alia was seen carrying her water sipper, hinting that she is not observing the fast this year.
Meanwhile, this year, several Bollywood stars observed a fast on the occasion of Karwa Chauth. Kiara Advani and Parineeti Chopra, who are celebrating their first Karwa Chauth after their weddings, shared pictures of their mehendi and revealed that they are fasting.
Like every year, this year too Shilpa Shetty and Mira Rajput observed the fast and were even seen attending the puja at Sunita Kapoor’s house. Sonam Kapoor also revealed she is fasting this year by making an appearance at the puja.
For the unversed, as part of Karwa Chauth rituals, women observe a fast. After looking at the moon through a sieve, married women break their fast by eating a small bite of food and a sip of water from their husbands’ hands.
