In Uttarakhand, an ordinance has been issued for strict anti-copying law in the paper leak case. Governor Lieutenant General Gurmeet Singh (Seni) approved the Uttarakhand Competitive Examination Ordinance 2023 on Friday. The government hopes that this will further reduce the number of incidents.

Under this law, if any printing press, coaching institute or management system is found guilty of copying, then he can be punished with life imprisonment. Along with this, he will also have to pay a fine of Rs 10 crore. Apart from this, if a person conspires with the organization conducting the examination in an organized manner, then a provision of punishment has also been made for him.

Explain that the government is enacting strict laws to crack down on competitive examinations in the state. Under this, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had sent an ordinance to the Governor after approving it. Taking it seriously, the governor gave the green signal to this law within 24 hours.

10 years imprisonment for copying, 10 lakh fine
After the implementation of the Competitive Examination Ordinance 2023, if a student is caught cheating or doing it, he may have to pay 3 years of imprisonment and a fine of up to 5 lakhs. If that student is caught again, he may have to pay a minimum sentence of 10 years and a fine of up to 10 lakhs. Apart from this, if found using unfair means during the examination, the acquired property will be attached.

This law will be applicable in all competitive exams.
Chief Minister Dhami thanked the Governor for approving this ordinance. Dhami tweeted- Honorable Governor has approved the ordinance of the country’s strictest anti-copying law sent by our government. Now the anti-copying law will be applicable in all the competitive examinations to be held in the state. Keeping in mind the interests of the youth, we are fully committed to root out the copycat mafia.
