Ananya Panday’s Call Me Bae To Release On September 6, Karan Johar Says ‘She’s Here To Slay’ – News18

Ananya Panday has been shooting her upcoming comedy series, Call Me Bae. For her OTT debut, the actress will be seen essaying the role of a fashionista. Today, the makers announced the release date of the series. Premiering on September 6, Call Me Bae, is a Dharmatic Entertainment Production with Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta and Somen Mishra as Executive Producers.

The 8-part series features Ananya Panday in the lead, as the actor makes her streaming debut in an Original series as Bella ‘Bae’ Chowdhary. Alongside Ananya Panday, the series features an ensemble cast comprising of Vir Das, Gurfateh Pirzada, Varun Sood, Vihaan Samat, Muskkaan Jaferi, Niharika Lyra Dutt, Lisa Mishra, and Mini Mathur. 

Karan Johar shared a new poster from the series and wrote, “This bae is here to stay and slay! #CallMeBaeOnPrime, Sept 6 only on @primevideoin.” Have a look at the photo:

Written by Ishita Moitra, Samina Motlekar, and Rohit Nair, and directed by Collin D’Cunha, Call Me Bae is the story of Bae, who upon being downsized from heiress to hustler, discovers that her most valuable assets aren’t her diamonds, but her street smarts and style. Broke but refusing to be broken, she navigates the newsrooms of Mumbai, finding beaus, behens, and her better self.

Ananya Panday seems to be moving on from her alleged breakup with actor Aditya Roy Kapur. From spending time with friends to bringing a new pet home, the actress is taking her own sweet time to relax and pamper herself. Reportedly, the couple, after being together for around two years, parted ways “a month ago.”

Ananya Panday was last seen in Kho Gaye Hum Kahan. She earned rave reviews for her role as Ahana in the film. She was seen sharing screen space with Siddhant Chaturvedi and Adarsh Gourav in the film. Apart from Call Me Bae, Ananya Panday will be seen Shankara, and Vikramaditya Motwane’s Control.
