Anant Ambani, the son of Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani, and Radhika Merchant, the daughter of Encore Healthcare CEO Viren Merchant’s wedding festivities are slated for 1-3 March, 2024 at the Reliance Greens in Jamnagar.
The couple officially got engaged during a Gol Dhana ceremony in Mumbai on January 19, 2023. In the Gujarati tradition, Gol Dhana, symbolizes the distribution of coriander seeds and jaggery, signifying engagement. During this ceremony, the bride, accompanied by her family, brings sweets and gifts to the groom’s house. The engagement ritual involves the exchange of rings, followed by seeking blessings from five married women from each family.
Anant, nurtured by parents Nita and Mukesh Ambani, completed his education at Brown University in the USA and has contributed to various roles at Reliance Industries, holding positions such as a board member for Jio Platforms and Reliance Retail Ventures. Radhika, the daughter of Shaila and Viren Merchant, holds a degree from New York University and serves as a Director on the Board of Encore Healthcare. Additionally, she is a proficient Indian classical dancer.
