Border Road Organization (BRO) has started work to connect Lahaul Spiti of Himachal Pradesh and Pangi area of ​​Chamba district with the Pathankot-Srinagar Highway, which is very important for the strategic security of the country. Pangi Valley is very important for the army and to reach here the army has to cross the Zojila pass.

Now BRO is preparing Tandi-Killar-Kishtwar road as an alternate route. This road, about 150 kilometers long, will prove to be very important for the movement of the army. After this road is built, the army will not have to cross the 16,000 feet high Zojila pass to go from Pathankot to Leh and Kargil.

BRO’s 94 RCC unit is repairing and widening the road. Where the road is broken, the work of tarring is going on.

Congress MLA from Lahaul Spiti Ravi Thakur met Major Akhil of BRO in Udaipur, Himachal regarding this road. After an important meeting with Major Akhil and other BRO officers, MLA Ravi Thakur said that the Tandi-Killar-Kishtwar road would prove to be extremely beneficial for the Army. Tourism in Lahaul and Pangi Killar will also benefit from this.

Ravi Thakur that the road work would be started on a war footing as soon as the weather opens up and the situation becomes normal in Pangi Valley. In its first phase, tarring of the road from Udaipur to Madgran will be done. The rest of the work will start in the second phase.

Widening of the Granphu-Kunzum-Kaja road was also discussed in the meeting.
