All Is Well Between Karan Johar & Ayan Mukerji Amid Rift Over Brahmastra 2, 3 Rumours

New Delhi: All is well between Karan Johar and ‘Brahmastra’ director Ayan Mukerji. Reports about a rift between the two started first when Bollywood Hungama claimed that Ayan Mukerji had decided to make ‘Brahmastra 2’ and its part three with another banner. The report also alleged that Mukerji had also not tagged KJo in his recent post announcing the datelines for the sequels.

However, now as per a new report by Hindustan Times, all is well between Ayan and Karan. The report quoted a source close to the publication and said, “This is not true. It is a gossip mongering piece which is trying to create a rift between the two. The two very much have the same bond which they have had until now. Ayan has given Karan a big hit, and the latter has been a big support to him, right from launching him as a director with Wake Up! Sid. Brahmastra was a big film, made possible only by the complete faith the two showed in each other.”

The same Bollywood Hungama report also claimed that the IP rights of ‘Brahmastra’ lie with Ayan and that is why he can approach other producers. However, no official comment has come from either side regarding the rumours.

Meanwhile, Karan Johar backed Ayan Mukerji’s ‘Brahmastra’ which is said to be his magnum opus and took about ten years to make. The film’s prep began soon after Ayan’s hit film ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ was released in 2013. ‘Brahmastra: Part 1: Shiva’ was headlined by Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt along with a stellar ensemble cast including the likes of Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Nagarjuna, Dimple Kapadia, among others.

‘Brahmastra’ collected Rs. 431 crores at the global box office and became the highest-grossing Hindi film of 2022 and one of the highest-grossing Indian films of 2022 and became the 20th highest-grossing Indian film of all time after completing theatrical run.
