For National Awards, Alia Bhatt chose the same elegant ivory saree that she wore for her wedding with Ranbir Kapoor in 2022.

Alia Bhatt was in New Delhi early today for the 69th National Film Awards Ceremony, where she was honoured for her role in Gangubai Kathiawadi. When she walked the red carpet, fans couldn’t help but admire her choice of outfit. Surprisingly, Alia decided to wear her wedding saree, which was designed by Sabyasachi, for this special occasion. She chose the same elegant ivory saree that she wore for her wedding in 2022. Fans instantly fell in love with her choice, hailing her timeless style and the sentimental value attached to the outfit.

Alia took to Instagram Stories to react to all the accolades and share with her fans as to why she chose the sari. Sharing a photo of herself wherein she can be seen posing on the stairs of her house, Alia wrote “A special day calls for a special outfit. Alia won the Best Actress award for Gangubai Kathiawadi, sharing the honour with Kriti Sanon for Mimi. As she walked up on stage, Ranbir was seen proudly filming Alia’s memorable moment. Seated in the audience behind Waheeda Rahman, Ranbir was seen holding up his phone and recording Alia. The actress accepted a medal and a certificate from the President of India, Droupadi Murmu. The video of Ranbir recording Alia and the actress accepting her award has now gone viral.

Alia also took to Instagram to share a photo of her felicitation and wrote, “A photo, a moment, a memory for life.”

Earlier in the day, Alia Bhatt arrived on the event’s red carpet with hubby dearest Ranbir Kapoor by her side. Despite the host’s insistence that Ranbir join Alia for the interview, he awkwardly stepped away from the frame, allowing Alia to take the spotlight.
