Alia Bhatt Reacts To Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan Breaking Brahmastra’s Box Office Record

New Delhi: Actor Alia Bhatt commented on ‘Pathaan’s box office success by referring to it as “possibly the biggest blockbuster of Indian cinema.” The actor also responded to questions about the spy flick shattering ‘Brahmastra’s box office record while speaking with the media at the Zee Cine Awards 2023 press conference on Tuesday night.

On Tuesday, Bhatt expressed her delight over ‘Pathaan’s box office triumph, saying she hoped the good times would last for the film industry.

While many are hailing ‘Pathaan’, ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’, and ‘Brahmastra’ successes as a pushback to forces working against the film industry, Bhatt claimed that as artists, they don’t have as much “aggression.”

“I don’t think we have so much aggression in us like that. We are very grateful to be working and living our dream on day-to-day basis. And we believe that we belong to the audience and the audience can say whatever they want to us,” Alia said.

“As long as we are entertaining them we will do our very best,” the actor added.

The commercial success of ‘Pathaan’ is a positive milestone for Indian cinema, Bhatt continued.

“We feel very very happy as an industry that a film like ‘Pathaan’ is not just a blockbuster but possibly the biggest blockbuster of Indian cinema,” she added.

When a reporter stated that Pathaan smashed Brahmastra’s record, Alia remarked,”Every film should break every film’s record. I am very happy with that.”

Ayan Mukerji directed Alia Bhatt’s most recent film, ‘Brahmastra Part One: Shiva’. The movie received favourable reviews from the audience and made over Rs 425 crore at the box office globally.

Directed by Siddharth Anand, ‘Pathaan’ marks Shah Rukh Khan’s first big screen release as a lead after four years hiatus.

The movie is the fourth title in producer Aditya Chopra’s spy-verse, following Salman Khan’s ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ (2012) and ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ (2017), and ‘War’, featuring Hrithik Roshan (2019).
