After Tunisha Sharma’s Death, Ali Baba: Dastaan-e-Kabul Shoot Resumes On Original Set

New Delhi: Tunisha Sharma, the lead actress of Ali Baba: Dastaan-e-Kabul, was found dead in a makeup room of the set on December 24. Since then, the set was sealed and the cast and crew were shooting in another set in Naigaon itself.

Now after 24 days, the original set has been reopened and the shooting has started there after some refurnishing and a puja. Sayantani Ghosh, who plays the antagonist, Simsim, in the show spoke to ETimes on returning to the set. “Honestly, I wasn’t prepared. We got to know about the shoot resuming on the set just the previous night. It’s very difficult to cope with what has happened. There are contrasting feelings and emotions. All of us miss Tunisha. I understand that returning to the old set was required because the show was suffering. Though the producers tried to extend the stay as much as they could, the scenes now required us to be back here. Location mein hum ko bohot compromise karke chalna padd raha tha,” she was quoted as saying by ETimes.

She also revealed that make-up rooms used by Tunisha and Sheezan Khan, who was arrested for abetment to suicide and is currently in judicial custody, have been cordoned off. “The production house has taken every measure possible to make us feel comfortable- and create an atmosphere of positivity. They have freshly painted the set in white, added more lights and hung new paintings. They opened the set yesterday and performed a puja,” she told ETimes.

Meanwhile, there is no respite for Sheezan Khan as a court in Maharashtra’s Palghar district on Friday rejected his bail application.  Additional Sessions Judge R D Deshpande refused to grant relief to the 28-year-old, who was arrested on December 25 and is now in judicial custody.

Tunisha was found hanging in the washroom on the set of the Hindi serial near Vasai, located on the outskirts of Mumbai. She was in a relationship with her co-actor Sheezan Khan but they broke up later.
