After a slight decline on Monday, India recorded 50,848 new cases of Covid-19 on Tuesday

New Delhi: India recorded 50,848 new cases of the deadly coronavirus on Tuesday, a day after recording a steep decline in the number of Covid cases. The Union Health Ministry in its daily health bulletin said that the active caseload in the last 24 hours has come down to 6,43,194, which is the lowest in 82 days. While 1,358 Kovid infected people lost their lives in the last 24 hours, 68,817 patients were discharged.

With this, the total cases of Kovid-19 registered in the country so far have gone up to 3,00,28,709. A total of 2,89,94,855 patients have been cured and discharged, while the death toll stands at 3,90,660. The recovery rate has increased to 96.56 percent while the daily positivity rate is 2.67 percent.

As of June 23, 2021, 8:00 AM, the total vaccine dose given so far is 29,46,39,511. Of these, 54,24,374 doses of the vaccine were given in the last 24 hours. The ICMR in its daily report informed that around 19,01,065 samples were tested for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. With this, the total samples tested till 22 June 2021 are 39,59,73,198.

The central government on Tuesday declared the Delta Plus variant of coronavirus in India as a ‘form of concern’. The Union Health Ministry has alerted and advised Maharashtra, Kerala and Madhya Pradesh about the Delta Plus variant of COVID19 detected in some districts of these states.
