The schedule for the by-election for Adampur assembly seat has been released. Voting will be held here on November 3. Adampur assembly seat fell vacant after Kuldeep Bishnoi’s resignation about 2 months ago. He had resigned from the membership of the assembly due to resentment with the Congress party. Kuldeep has now taken membership of BJP. Now he wants his son Bhavya to contest from this seat.

Last time there was an election contest between Kuldeep Bishnoi and Sonali Phogat.  Now Kuldeep has joined BJP, Sonali has been murdered.

Gazette notification will be issued on 7 October regarding Adampur by-election. After this there will be up to 14 nominations. Scrutiny of nomination papers will be held on October 15. The last date for withdrawal of nominations has been fixed on October 17. Voting will be held on Tuesday, November 3. Counting of votes will take place on November 6. The entire election process will end on November 8.

Choice of reputation of Kuldeep Bishnoi
The by-election of Adampur assembly seat will be a question of prestige of Kuldeep Bishnoi. Bishnoi won this seat defeating BJP candidate Sonali Phogat. Then resigned before joining BJP. He left Congress and joined BJP. After this he also met Sonali Phogat, who lost the election. A few days later, Sonali was murdered. However, the big question is definitely whether Kuldeep Bishnoi himself will contest or his son will contest the elections.

Sonali Phogat’s sister Rukesh Poonia may contest the Adampur assembly by-election. Recently, he had indicated this in the Sarv Khap Mahapanchayat held at Jat Dharamshala in Hisar. Her husband had confirmed that the party is not yet decided but Rukhesh will definitely contest the elections. Sonali Phogat’s political legacy was handed over to her sister. On which Sonali’s daughter Yashodhara also agreed.

Sonali’s daughter Yashodhara is also in favor of aunt Rukesh Poonia
In the Sarv Khap Mahapanchayat held in Jat Dharamsala, Hisar, Sonali’s daughter Yashodhara had announced to hand over her mother’s political legacy to her aunt Rukesh Poonia. Yashodhara said that she is still a minor and her aunt Rukesh is her well-wisher, so she hands over her mother’s political legacy to her. In such a situation, Rukesh Poonia will also get the benefit of the sympathy of the people with the Sonali family and especially his daughter.

Sonali was defeated by Bishnoi by 29 thousand votes
In 2019, from Adampur seat, Kuldeep Vishnoi of Congress defeated Tiktok star and BJP candidate Sonali Phogat by a margin of 29471 votes. Kuldeep Vishnoi got 63693 votes while Sonali Phogat got 34222 votes. Kuldeep Vishnoi got 51.7 percent votes while Sonali Phogat got 27.78 percent votes.

Bhajan Lal family’s possession for 54 years
This Adampur assembly seat of Haryana has been occupied by former CM Bhajan Lal. From 1968 to 2022, his family members have got this seat. From 1968 to 1982, Bhajan Lal was MLA from Adampur seat. After this, in 1987, his wife Jasma Devi Bishnoi contested the election as a Congress candidate and won.

Elections were held again in 1991 and Bhajan Lal won. After that he remained MLA from this seat till 2005. In 2009, his daughter-in-law and Kuldeep Bishnoi’s wife Renuka Bishnoi became MLA from this seat. In 2014, Bhajan Lal’s son and Kuldeep Bishnoi contested and won. In 2019 also Kuldeep Bishnoi became a Congress MLA. However, now he has resigned and joined the BJP.
