Wilson Bethel, who played Benjamin Poindexter/Bullseye in Daredevil, is likely to reprise his role in Daredevil: Born Again.

Wilson Bethel, the talented American actor who portrayed the menacing Benjamin Poindexter, aka Bullseye, in Netflix’s Daredevil, is set to reprise his role in the Disney+ series, Daredevil: Born Again. Although details about the extent of Bethel’s involvement remain unclear, several reports have confirmed his return. Marvel Studios, however, has not yet commented on this development.

Bethel’s portrayal of Bullseye in Daredevil was nothing short of captivating. While his character initially used Daredevil’s costume to tarnish Matt Murdock’s reputation, fans eagerly awaited the full-fledged debut of Poindexter as Bullseye, which was teased for a possible Daredevil season 4—an unfortunate cancellation.

Daredevil: Born Again faced its fair share of challenges, experiencing a halt in principal photography due to labour strikes last year. Marvel Studios used this downtime to implement a creative overhaul, resulting in significant changes to the show’s release plans. The series is now slated for a 2025 release, with a shorter episode order and a new showrunner, Dario Scardapene, known for his work on The Punisher.

Despite the setbacks, the show boasts a star-studded cast, with Charlie Cox reprising his role as Matt Murdock, Vincent D’Onofrio returning as Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin and Jon Bernthal making a comeback as the Punisher. The new direction of Daredevil: Born Again reflects the dynamic vision of Marvel Studios, with Moon Knight and Loki Season 2 directors, Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, now at the helm.

Comic Book report suggests that Bullseye will make a triumphant return in three episodes of Daredevil: Born Again. Benjamin Poindexter, introduced in Daredevil’s third season as an army veteran and former FBI agent, showcased his lethal talents for target neutralization. Recruited by Kingpin, Poindexter donned Daredevil’s costume to manipulate public perception, leading to a riveting showdown with the real Man Without Fear, Matt Murdock.

Fans had hoped for Bullseye’s full transformation in Daredevil season 4, teased by the bullseye symbol in Poindexter’s eye during the spine surgery scene in the season 3 finale. Unfortunately, Daredevil’s cancellation left this storyline unresolved.

With Wilson Bethel’s return in Daredevil: Born Again, he can finally embrace the comic book character in all its glory, providing closure to the narrative that was left hanging in the wake of Daredevil’s cancellation.
