Acid thrown on refusing to marry: Divorced girlfriend was putting pressure on marriage, accused himself married; children too

A married man threw acid on the face of his divorced girlfriend in Bengaluru, Karnataka. This incident of Friday morning is from Kumaraswamy Layout police station area. A married man named Ahmed (36) proposed marriage to his divorced girlfriend (32), but the girlfriend refused to marry. Angered by this, the lover threw acid on the woman’s face and fled from there. Police said that both the accused and the victim used to work in agarbatti factory and were in a relationship for the last one and a half years. The accused is married and has children. Despite this, he was putting pressure on his girlfriend for marriage.

Throwing acid, the woman started seeing blurred vision in her right eye. Nearby people immediately took him to the hospital, from where he was sent to the government hospital. The acid was cleared from the woman’s eye. The woman has suffered minor injuries in the incident and will be discharged soon.
