The police recovered the body parts of the woman from the flat of the accused. The accused has been caught.

A new thing has come to light in the murder of a live-in partner in Mumbai’s Mira Road area. Accused Manoj Sane told the police that partner Saraswati Vaidya had committed suicide. Fearing that he might be caught in such a situation, he cut the dead body into pieces and boiled it in a cooker and fed it to the dogs.

The deceased Saraswati was an orphan. She did her schooling from Jankibai Apte Balika Ashram in Ahmed Nagar till class 10th. Anu Salve, an employee of this ashram told NDTV that Saraswati used to call the accused as maternal uncle. She used to tell that maternal uncle is very rich and has a cloth mill. Both of them used to come in a white car.

Both were living in a rented flat on the 7th floor of Akashganga building in Mira Road area for 3 years. The residents of the building had informed the police on Wednesday after foul smell emanated from the flat.

Woman murdered three to four days ago
DCP Jayat Bajbale of Mumbai Police told- We found pieces of a woman’s dead body in the flat. These pieces were rotten, seeing which it is estimated that the murder was done three-four days ago. We have arrested the accused.

The accused said – the body was cut into pieces, boiled in the cooker. The accused told the police that Saraswati Vaidya had committed suicide on June 3. He was afraid that he would be charged with murder, so he cut the bodies into pieces and boiled them in a pressure cooker to avoid the stench. The police suspect the suicide claim. The police have sent the pieces of the woman’s body to JJ Hospital for examination. The special team of doctors will also tell which body parts are missing.

People said – the accused was feeding the dogs for 4 days
The residents of the society told the police that the accused was seen feeding the dogs for the last two-three days. These people told that the accused was never seen doing this before.

Sent to police custody till June 16
Police produced the accused Manoj Sane in the Mira-Bhayander court. The court sent him to police custody till June 16.
