A 33-year-old woman from Dubai has demanded registration of an FIR against Shiv Sena MP Rahul Shewale for rape. On the other hand, Shewale’s wife Kamini dismissed the allegations against her husband and termed it as a “deliberate conspiracy” to malign the image of the MP who has been active in social and political life for more than 25 years.
The woman, who runs a textile business, has alleged in her complaint that the Mumbai Police did not register an FIR despite recording her statement in the past.
A Mumbai Police official said on Tuesday that they have alleged that Shewale has been emotionally and mentally harassing her and raping her since 2020.
Have a physical relationship by telling a strained relationship with wife: Woman
The woman has alleged that Shewale had physical relations with her saying that her relations with the wife were strained. According to the complaint, Shewale had told the woman that he would get divorced soon after which he would marry her.
According to the complaint, whenever I used to come from Dubai, MPs used to invite me for dinner at MP House in Delhi. In October 2021, I posted a video and photo of myself and Shewale on Instagram, following which they filed an FIR against me in Sharjahan and I was arrested. I spent 78 days in jail but was later acquitted.
Requested Chief Minister Eknath Shinde to register an FIR
The woman, who visited Mumbai, claimed that she had filed a rape complaint against Shewale at the Sakinaka police station in April this year, but no further action was taken. The woman said, “I came to know that the Sakinaka police has registered an FIR against me under extortion and other sections of the IPC on the complaint of Shewale. I provided all the evidence to the police and also approached the National Commission for Women. I am the chief minister. I request you to take action against Shewale and direct the police to register an FIR against him.”
MP had filed a case of extortion against the woman
On July 11, on Shewale’s application, the Sakinaka police registered an FIR against the woman on charges of extortion, cheating and defamation on the directions of the Metropolitan Magistrate’s court in Andheri.
The MP had said in her complaint that the woman had approached him on the pretext of seeking financial assistance for her business but started extorting money by threatening to defame him. He had said in his complaint that the woman was pressuring him to divorce his wife and marry her.
Shewale also said that he had met the woman in February 2020 through a close friend. In her statement, Kamini Shewale referred to the FIR lodged against the woman at the Sakinaka police station in Mumbai.

Kamini Shewale said, the woman was threatening to kill me and my family members for the past few months. He was also booked for intimidation with intent to defame the image of a dignitary a few months back in Sharjah and was jailed. For about 80 days. The woman has a criminal background. Her brother is serving a sentence in a Delhi jail for raping and murdering a woman. This is a deliberate conspiracy to tarnish the political and social prestige of MP Rahul Shewale.
