A big accident happened a day before the new year in Palamu district of Jharkhand. About six people died in this. Six laborers, including three women, were killed and 18 others were injured in a head-on collision between a pickup van and a truck at Hariharganj in Palamu district on Friday, an official said.

The laborers were returning to their village after harvesting paddy.
The incident took place late in the evening when the laborers of Panki in Palamu were returning to their villages after harvesting paddy in Sihudi village of neighboring Bihar, the official said. Some of these laborers died on the spot. The official said the death toll could rise. The accident took place on National Highway 98.

All the women died during treatment
Hariharganj Block Development Officer Jaiprakash Narayan, who reached the accident spot, said that three laborers died on the spot in Aurangabad, Bihar and all three other women died during treatment.

Treatment of 12 seriously injured laborers
Also, Hariharganj police station in-charge Sudama Kumar Das said that 12 laborers are undergoing treatment at Hariharganj Community Health Center. Six other laborers seriously injured have been sent to Medinirai Medical College and Hospital for better treatment.
