Abhijit Ganguly’s big directive, 2 CBI officers dropped from SIT

Justice Abhijit Gangopadhyay reconstituted the seat of the CBI in the Group D recruitment corruption investigation as he had warned earlier. 2 officers were relieved from the duty of investigation and assigned to 4 others. Also appointed a DIG of CBI as the Chief Investigating Officer. The judge hopes that it will speed up the investigation.

A total of 542 people have been illegally recruited in the investigation into Group D recruitment corruption. 6 months ago, the judge ordered to interrogate everyone who got jobs illegally in this incident. 5 months ago on June 17, he formed the seat for this purpose. But after that CBI has interrogated only 16 people so far. Which is less than 5 percent of the total illegal recruitment.

Expressing dissatisfaction with this, the judge formed a new seat on Wednesday. Deputy Super KC Rishinamalo and Inspector Imran Ashiq were removed from the responsibility of the investigation. Instead, he appointed Biswanath Chakraborty, Angshuman Saha, Pradeep Tripathi, Wasim Akram Khan to the seat.

At the same time, he asked the CBI for the names of 3 DIG rank officers to be given the charge of Chief Investigating Officer. But CBI informed that there is no official of DIG rank working in Kolkata. Then the judge appointed an officer named Akhilesh Singh as the Chief Investigating Officer. Akhilesh Singh ordered him to be transferred to Kolkata within 7 days wherever he was. He even said that the officer cannot be transferred without the permission of the court. Now let’s see if the activity of the CBI increases with the activity of the court or not.
