- Punjab Municipal Corporation Election, AAP Focus On Jalandhar, Patiala, Ludhiana And Amritsar MC After Chandigarh

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which made a clean sweep winning 92 out of 117 seats in the Punjab Assembly, is now eyeing the municipal corporations. These include Patiala, Ludhiana, Amritsar and Jalandhar Municipal Corporations. Preparations are being made to conduct elections to these four municipal corporations in December this year. For this, a strategy is being prepared in Chandigarh. Aam Aadmi Party’s Punjab in-charge Jarnail Singh has taken this front. Jarnail Singh played an important role in winning the Chandigarh Corporation elections. State General Secretary Harchand Singh Barsat is also with him.

AAP’s stellar performance in all four districts
- Patiala has 8 assembly seats. Aam Aadmi Party has won all these. Former CM Captain Amarinder Singh from Patiala Urban also lost the election to AAP candidate.
- Aam Aadmi Party won 13 out of 14 seats in Ludhiana district. In the urban area too, Congress veterans including minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu were defeated by AAP candidates.
- AAP has won 9 out of 11 seats in Amritsar. Here also veterans like Navjot Sidhu, Bikram Majithia, Rajkumar Verka and OP Soni lost to AAP candidates.
- Aam Aadmi Party won 4 out of 9 seats in Jalandhar. The special thing is that the AAP candidate was victorious in the urban seats.

Jarnail Singh behind the victory in Chandigarh
Delhi MLA Jarnail Singh, who is handling the responsibility of Punjab Corporation elections, has shown wonders in Chandigarh. AAP made a banging entry in the elections held for 35 wards of Chandigarh Corporation. AAP won 14 seats by contesting from here for the first time. AAP candidates defeated even Mayor and former Mayor. Jarnail Singh’s strategy was behind this victory. Jarnail Singh said that under the leadership of CM Bhagwant Mann, it is decided that AAP will become the Mayor of all the four municipal corporations.
Amritsar Mayor and former Patiala Mayor join AAP
In Punjab, Amritsar Municipal Corporation Mayor Karmjit Rintu has already joined AAP before the elections. Former mayor of Patiala Ajitpal Kohli has also come to the party. He defeated Captain Amarinder Singh in the Vis election. There are Congress mayors in Jalandhar and Ludhiana, but the Congress is a victim of factionalism there.
