A portion of foot overbridge at Ballarshah railway station collapses, over 8 passengers reported injured – Rail Hunt

NAGPUR: More than 8 passengers have been seriously injured due to the collapse of a part of the footover bridge at Ballarshah railway station under Nagpur division of Central Railway. The incident happened at five in the evening. The height of the bridge is said to be 60 feet. Passengers fell on the tracks from a height of 60 feet due to breaking of the bridge.

There is news of more than 20 passengers being injured in this incident. Some serious things are being told in this. However, CPRO of Central Railway Shivaji Sutar has said that four people were injured in the incident. At the time when this accident happened at the station, many passengers were going from platform number one to platform number four to board the Kazipet-Pune Express. Suddenly, a part of the slab in the middle of the bridge collapsed, causing the passengers passing through it to fall on the tracks.

It is said that Ballarshah railway station has got the status of grade one station, so this carelessness about safety here is a matter to think about. So far no statement has been issued by the Railways regarding negligence in repair and maintenance.
