IndiGo employees go to Air India recruitment: 55% flights delayed due to crew members taking leave, DGCA seeks response from company

Several crew members of Indigo Airlines took medical leave on Saturday. Due to this, 55% of IndiGo flights were delayed in many cities of the country. In this matter, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) had sought a response from IndiGo. However, no response has been given from IndiGo yet.

Crew members went to recruit Air India
The recruitment of Air India was conducted on Saturday. According to sources, after taking leave from IndiGo, most of the people had joined the recruitment of Air India. Around 900 flights were affected due to this. Let us tell you that India’s largest airline is Indigo. It has 279 planes. About 1600 flights are operated daily. They have both national and international flights.

Air India has started the recruitment drive for new crew members.

45.2% of IndiGo flights were on time
According to the website of the Ministry of Civil Aviation, only 45.2% of IndiGo’s domestic flights operated on time on Saturday. Air India 77.1%, SpiceJet 80.4%, Vistara 86.3%, GoFirst 88% and AirAsia India 92.3 flights were operational on time.

Many employees were fired from IndiGo
IndiGo CEO Ronjoy Dutta had emailed employees on April 8, describing the issue of salary hike as difficult. Along with this, the company had suspended some pilots on 4 April. The suspended pilots were on strike over the salary deducted during Corona. IndiGo had cut the salaries of its pilots by up to 30% during the pandemic.
