New Delhi: Are Maddy and Reena coming back in a film? Well, a cute banter between R Madhavan and Dia Mirza on Instagram proves so. The 2001 romantic film ‘Rehna Hai Tere Dil Mein’ is a cult classic romantic film starring R Madhavan, Dia Mirza and Saif Ali Khan. Known for its emotional love story, timeless songs, catchy dialogues, the film has been memorable for fans since its release. And now, after so many years, it seems that out of the blue, a hint about a possible sequel of the film RHTDM has come to fans’ attention. R Madhavan took to his Instagram stories on Monday to share a cryptic note hinting at something of a sequel.
“@diamirzaofficial aka Reena do you think the stars will align for us again? Maybe another ‘Zara Zara’ moment?” In response, Dia Mirza reported the story and replied, “Only If ‘Sach Keh Rha Hai Deewana.’” This playful banter between the two stars was noticed by eagle-eyed fans who have their own theories about the sequel.
The two also tagged the team of the film and the producers behind the first film in their post.
‘Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein’, also known well by its abbreviated version RHTDM, is a romantic drama written and directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, starring R Madhavan, Saif Ali Khan and Dia Mirza in the lead.
The film was a remake of the director’s own Tamil film ‘Minnale’ which was also released in the same year and starred Madhavan. The film marked Dia Mirza’a Tamil debut as well.
‘RHTDM’ revolves around the love story of Maddy ( Madhav Shastri played by R Madhavan) and Reena Malhotra( Dia Mirza). In the film, Reena is set to get engaged to Rajeev ‘Sam’ Samra( Saif Ali Khan), who is a young man settled in the US and is Maddy’s former college rival.
Meanwhile, while no official announcement has come in from any quarter, this exchange between Dia and Madhavan has caught their fans’ attention who wish the news become a reality soon. And, yes we do too!
