I was going to the market with my daughter. He had just left the house for some distance when suddenly there came the sound of screaming and shouting of people. Going forward a little, the sound of firing was also heard. Suddenly a crowd of thousands of people appeared in front of us. We were trembling with fear. My daughter was crying. We ran back home gasping and running.
The crowd was behind us, they started throwing stones at our houses. As soon as we went inside the house, we closed all the doors. A woman who saw the violence that took place in Kanpur in front of her eyes said these things.
Somebody’s shop was robbed, some got injured and some ran away after saving their lives with great difficulty. Dainik Bhaskar spoke to 6 people 24 hours after the incident. 1. Policeman came and went after seeing us beating
Kalpana Trivedi and Suman told the whole story of the ruckus.
Kalpana, who lives in the gate, said, ‘It was around one and a half in the afternoon. We went to the market to get some stuff. We saw a crowd of thousands standing there. Heard two boys talking that the atmosphere is going to get worse. My daughter started crying. We immediately ran towards the house with our daughter. But even before reaching home, stones started moving there. With great difficulty we reached home. But here the roofs of the house are down in the hand. Nearby Muslim houses are built high and high. Stone pelting started on us even in the houses. To save our lives, we also had to throw stones from the front. She said, ‘A policeman came and left after seeing. We are killing people and they have no meaning. Later the force came and pacified the matter.
2. The shop opened after the death of the husband broke it too
Geeta Kashyap told what happened after the ruckus.
Geeta Kashyap, who lives in the house, told with a tear that her husband had already died. We had opened a shop at the main gate of the gate by taking loan from the people. Suddenly the attacks started. We didn’t even get time to close the shop. The kiosk of the shop was broken and the goods were looted.
3. Had come home to eat food, the mob attacked
Sanjay said that before we could understand anything, the crowd started pelting stones.
Aman Batham, who does a private job, lives in Chandeshwar Hatte. He had come to his house for lunch in the afternoon. Then some people surrounded him and attacked him with stones. He also suffered injuries on his leg and shoulder. He said, ‘Were wearing a helmet, just because there was no head injury. Lucky to have survived.
4. Muslims robbed Muslim goods
The goods of Naved’s shop were looted by the Muslims only.
Naved used to run a confectionery shop. “When the ruckus started, confectionery items were being loaded for the shop. Suddenly a crowd came running from the front and started robbing the car. Somehow we pulled down the shutter of the shop, otherwise they would have looted our entire shop.
5. We were 10 people and there was a crowd of thousands in front
Local resident Sanjay Shukla was also injured in the stone pelting. He told that there were hardly 10 to 12 men in the house. While we were trying to escape, a stone hit our head. Arrived at the hospital and got treatment. Around 6 people are injured near the hand. All are being treated in the hospital.
6. Came from Unnao, mob looted 50 thousand goods
Jugul Kishore Kashyap told his story.
Jugul Kishore Kashyap, who came to his maternal grandmother from Unnao, told that I had brought a car on rent. All the windows of the car were broken. People also looted goods worth about 50 thousand rupees kept in the car. I am scared to come here. Complaint has been made to DM in this matter.
