In Meerut on Saturday night the DJ of Kanwariyas collided with 11 KV high tension line. Due to this the current came down in it and 6 Kanwariyas died. In this incident, 16 people including two kanwariyas were injured. He has been admitted to the hospital. The Kanwariyas have blocked the protest against the incident. The accident took place in Chilaura Rali village of Bhavanpur police station area.
All of them had brought Kanwar from Haridwar. The names of the dead are being told as Himanshu, Prashant, Mahendra, Lakhmi, Lakshya, Manish. Both Himanshu and Prashant are real brothers. The condition of third real brother Vishal is critical, has been admitted to Anand Hospital. All the deceased are residents of Rali Chauhan.

The accident happened at 8.30 pm
It is being told that the accident happened around 8.30 pm. When the youth of the village were returning to their village Rali Chauhan after Jalabhishek. The kanwariyas were accompanied by a big DJ, who collided with the high tension line near the village temple, causing electrocution.
There was a hue and cry on the spot. Some people separated the injured from the trolley. DM and SSP reached the spot on information. The injured have been admitted to IIMT in Ganganagar, Anand Hospital and Medical College in Meerut. Enraged by the incident, the villagers blocked the road. The force of many police stations has reached the spot.
CO Devesh Pratap Chauhan told that the youths had told JE that they were bringing Kanwar. Power supply should be stopped from 11 KV line. JE said that the electricity has been cut. After this the youth brought the kanwar. But the electricity was not cut and the accident happened.
This is the DJ who hit the high tension line. It is being told that the JE of the Electricity Department had informed about the closure of the line, after which they came to the village, but the line was operational.
DJ Kanwar was 22 feet tall
The entire 22 feet high Kanwad was prepared by installing a DJ. On July 4, these people went to Haridwar to get water. Had returned from Haridwar to Meerut today i.e. Saturday morning itself. Performed Jalabhishek in the temple. Since Kanwar had heavy sound and heavy lighting, Kanwar was erected at a farmhouse in Meerut’s Incholi during the day itself.
At night, the kanwariyas were going to the village with the kanwar. Jalabhishek was also to be performed here in the village temple. At the outer end of the village, there was a brick wall on one side of the road. To save it, the tractor-trolley was being pulled out from the other side. Then the music system (DJ) of Kanwar collided with the 11 KV line.
As soon as the information about the accident was received, the villagers immediately reached the spot. These people took the injured on bikes and reached the hospital.
Kithore MLA’s car glass broken
After the accident, the villagers ransacked the Meerut-Fort road by blocking it. The windshield of Kithore MLA Shahid Manzoor’s car was also broken. Police reached after a long time of the incident. Due to this the villagers got angry and also had an argument with the police.
