540 arrested for violating traffic laws on New Year’s Eve, Kolkata set a record

And 57 people were sitting on the back of motorbikes without wearing helmets.

What else is known? Two people died in a terrible road accident on New Year’s Day. The incident occurred at Baigachi area of ​​Kalnar in East Burdwan district around 5 am on Sunday. The deceased were identified as Amit Mondal (26) and Raj Das (17). Both of them live in Baruipara area of ​​Kalnar. Two people were riding a motorbike to have tea at a dhaba in Gurap area. Then the morning fog and with it the motorbike lost control and crashed into the flag pole on the side of the road. They fell on a roadside land. They died on the spot. After that, the police rescued him from the spot and took him to Kalna Hospital, where the doctors declared him dead.
