Six people were killed and 12 were injured after a fire broke out at a chemical factory in Eluru’s Akkireddygudem. The accident happened late night due to gas leakage, where 5 laborers were burnt alive, while one died later. According to Eluru SP Rahul Dev Sharma, the fire started due to leakage of nitric acid, monomethyl.

Broke on the way to the hospital
The incident happened at Porus Factory in Andhra Pradesh. It is in Masunur district. Where the gas leaked in unit number 4 and spread throughout the building. About 17 laborers were at work when this accident happened. 5 laborers were burnt alive as soon as the fire broke out. While 12 people were badly injured. A laborer died on the way to the hospital.

The injured have been referred to Vijayawada and Nujeedu for better treatment. Officials say some are in critical condition. As soon as the news of the fire was received, the fire brigade and NDRF team started trying to control the fire.
