Hot Seat 1: Amritsar East – Sidhu trapped himself by challenging Akali Dal

Navjot Sidhu is second with 23488 votes in Amritsar East seat after 9 rounds. Jeevanjot Kaur of Aam Aadmi Party is leading by a margin of 28289 votes. On the other hand, Akali Dal’s Bikram Majithia is at number three with 18799 votes.
Why seat is important Navjot Sidhu was the reason behind Captain Amarinder Singh leaving the Congress. On the other hand, after the FIR was registered in the drug case, Akali leader Bikram Majithia challenged Sidhu by entering his ‘house’.
Elections so far: Conventional seat of Congress. Sidhu has been representing it for 18 years as an MP and MLA. He won in 2017 by 42,809 votes, the second largest margin in the state after Captain.

However, many Congress leaders are angry with his working style. If Sidhu loses, problems will increase for him in Congress. Hot seat 2: Bhadur – Congress’s attempt to cultivate Malwa through Channi failed

In Bhadaur seat, AAP’s Labh Singh Ugoke is at number one with 46349 votes after 9 rounds. On the other hand, Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi is second with 1,550 votes. Akali Dal’s Rahi is at number three with 16408 votes.
Why seat is important These 69 seats out of 117 in Punjab come in the Malwa region. Congress played bets on its CM face Charanjit Channi to cultivate this area. After the departure of the captain, this is the first time that the Congress has neither made a CM from Malwa nor is the state president. The high command sent Channi here from Doaba to rectify this ‘mistake’.
Elections so far: The Akali Dal won 7 out of 12 elections in the Bhadaur seat formed in 1967. In 2017, AAP’s Piramal Singh won here, who has now become a Congressman. The party’s candidate is out of the main contest in the seat, which was an Akali Dal stronghold till 2017.
What will be the effect: Channi is the only leader of all the political parties of Punjab, not only Congress, who contested from 2 seats. Their position in Chamkaur Sahib is also in turmoil and they are losing in Bhadaur. In such a situation, questions are bound to arise on the Congress leadership ignoring Malwa. Hot Seat 3: Dhuri – New opportunities in front of Bhagwant, who lost 2 times

Aam Aadmi Party’s CM Face Bhagwant Mann is leading in Dhuri seat with 72873 votes after 12 rounds. On the other hand, Goldie of Congress is second with 22105 votes and Prakash Chand of Akali Dal is at third position with 5680 votes.
Why seat is important AAP’s CM face Bhagwant Mann is in the fray from Dhuri. This seat comes in the parliamentary constituency of Mann, who won parliamentary elections on AAP ticket for two consecutive terms from Sangrur Lok Sabha seat. Bhagwant Mann has earlier lost assembly elections from Jalalabad and Lehra. Here he is pitted against Dalveer Goldie of Congress.
Elections so far: Congress won 6 out of 14 elections held in Dhuri seat since 1957. Akali Dal and CPI candidates also won 3-3 times, voters won 2 times for independents. There is an MLA of Congress here from the last 2 elections.
What will be the effect: This election was very important for Bhagwant Mann. Bhagwant Mann has been lobbying to become the CM face of the party. Hot Seat 4: Patiala – End of Captain’s Politics

On the other hand, Captain Amarinder Singh has lost the Patiala seat. Till the 12th round, Ajit Pal Singh Kohli of Aam Aadmi Party was taking the lead with 43320. At the same time, Captain got only 26571 votes.
Why seat is important Patiala Urban has always been a safe seat for Captain Amarinder Singh. This time he has left the Congress and has entered the fray on his party’s ticket. Till 6 months ago, the Congress organization, which had the strength with the Captain, stood against him in this election.
Elections so far: In the 19 elections held in Patiala Urban seat, Congress won 11 times. The Captain is the MLA here since 2002. He left the seat when he was elected MP from Amritsar in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, and his wife Preneet Kaur won the by-election.
What will be the effect: The Captain wanted to prove his grip on Punjab politics by winning at this stage of his age. But after his defeat, the four decades of political understanding and credibility of the captain seems to be ending.
Hot Seat 5: Moga – ‘The End’ of Bollywood star Sonu Sood’s political career

Actor Sonu Sood’s sister Malvika from Moga is at number two after completing 11 rounds. He has got 25279 votes. Dr. Amandeep Kaur of Aam Aadmi Party is at first position with 44814 votes and Barjinder Singh Makhan Brar of Akali Dal is at third position with 20926 votes.
Why seat is important Bollywood star Sonu Sood’s sister Malvika Sood contested her first election on a Congress ticket. Due to Sonu Sood, Congress cut the ticket of its sitting MLA Harjot Kamal. Sonu also campaigned day and night, leaving shooting for films for his sister.
Elections so far: So far 15 elections have been held in Moga seat and Congress has won 12 times. Akali Dal got success thrice. In 2017, Harjot Kamal had won on a Congress ticket by 1,764 votes.
What will be the effect: Sonu Sood was preparing to enter politics indirectly along with his sister Malavika. His election loss seems to have ended the film actor’s political career before it even started.
