Union Home Minister Amit Shah will hold an important meeting on regional security in Gujarat’s capital Gandhinagar today. The CMs, Deputy CMs and administrators of Goa, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Dadra Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu will be present in this meeting. Drugs worth Rs 632 crore will be destroyed on this occasion.

NCB’s 75 Days Mission
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) had set a target of destroying 75,000 kg of confiscated drugs in 75 days to mark the 75th year of the country’s independence. However, since July 30, NCB has so far destroyed more than one lakh kg of narcotics. Union Home Minister Amit Shah started this mission by destroying more than 31000 kg of narcotics in Chandigarh on July 30. Two weeks ago, in the presence of Amit Shah, a cache of 40,000 kg of narcotics was destroyed in Guwahati.

Shah is busy preparing for Gujarat elections
Amit Shah has been in Gujarat for the last several days. He has come to make a strategy for the upcoming assembly elections. On Wednesday, he held a meeting with party leaders in Somnath. The meeting, which lasted for several hours at Veraval’s marketing yard building, focused on the BJP’s efforts to avoid its 2017 poor performance in the region.
