4 kg heroin caught in Tarn Taran: Smuggler absconded after scuffle with police; Consignment was ordered from Pakistan

The Counter Intelligence (CI) wing of the Punjab Police has seized 4 kg of heroin from Harike in Tarn Taran area. While two smugglers managed to escape from the spot after a scuffle with the police. During the scuffle, the bag full of heroin fell down, while the accused managed to escape along with the accomplice in the car.

The smugglers who escaped from the custody of the police have been identified as Sunil Kumar alias Kalu and Kali, residents of Saidjalpura under Dharamkot police station area of ​​Moga. A case has been registered against both of them in the State Special Operation Cell (SSOC). After which the police is conducting raids to nab both.

Heroin came from Ferozepur border
According to the information received, the CI had received information from an informer. The informer told that Kalu and Kali are involved in drug smuggling from across the border. He has links with smugglers from Pakistan. Both have recently been sent consignments from Ferozepur border by smugglers from Pakistan. Both these consignments are arriving from Harike Bus Stand for delivery on the road leading to the old bridge.

Smugglers fled in Sangrur number car
After information, police teams reached the spot and a trap was laid. A man was standing on the road with a bag. As the police teams tried to nab him, he started a scuffle with the police. The accused jumped into the car and his accomplice who was waiting in the car managed to drive away. The car had the registration number of Sangrur.
