3 girls suspended for recording private videos of girls: Udupi case; Videos made by hiding mobile in bathroom, used to send in WhatsApp group

A medical college in Karnataka suspended 3 girls for making a private video of another girl. The incident took place on Wednesday 19 July at Netra Jyoti College in Ambalpadi, Udupi. According to reports, these three girls had fitted mobile cameras inside the bathroom.

Alimatul Shafa, Shabanaz and Alia are accused of making a video of a girl studying with them taking a bath. Also sent it to his friends through community WhatsApp.

It has also been said in the reports that some of the boys, to whom the three girls used to send these videos, made the videos viral on social media. After this the matter was revealed. After this there was a fierce debate between the girls who recorded the video and the rest of the girl students.

On the other hand, the college management has suspended all three from the college. According to college director Rashmi Krishna Prasad, the accused have been suspended for bringing a mobile phone to the college and using it to make videos in the washroom.

After the news of the incident, activists of Hindu organizations also reached the college and demanded action against the accused. Some student groups have met Udupi SP Akshay Hake and demanded action. Although the college administration has suspended the girl students, but till now no victim has filed a complaint.

On the other hand, the college management had deleted the videos in front of the victim. But an application has been given to the police for investigation. Along with this, the mobiles of the accused have also been handed over for forensic examination.

A similar incident happened in Chandigarh as well.

A similar case also came to light in September 2022, when a Chandigarh University girl was accused of making private videos of some girl students of the college and sending them to her friends. However, during police interrogation, it was revealed that the rest of the accused were also blackmailing the girl to make videos, so she was sending videos of the victims.
