Two terrorists were killed in an encounter between security forces and terrorists in Awantipora, Jammu and Kashmir. One of the slain terrorists is Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist Kaiser Koka. The identity of the second terrorist is being ascertained. A US-made rifle (M-4 carbine), a pistol, ammunition and other weapons have been recovered from the slain terrorists. Terrorist Kaiser Koka was active in this area since 2018.

ADGP Kashmir said that the security forces had received information about the hiding of some terrorists in this area in the morning. After this the security forces cordoned off the area and started the operation. The terrorists were asked to surrender, but they started firing. Two terrorists were killed in retaliatory firing. Intermittent firing was going on from both the sides till Monday afternoon. Search operation is going on.

125 terrorists killed so far this year
There have been 55 encounters in Jammu and Kashmir this year, in which 125 terrorists have been killed. During this, two security personnel were also martyred, while 20 civilians also died. This year terrorists carried out 8 grenade attacks. Last year i.e. in 2021, 146 terrorists were killed in the Valley.

Recruitment of 700 terrorists in 4 years
In the last 4 years, 700 youths have joined terrorist organizations in Jammu and Kashmir. In 2018, 187 youth became terrorists, 121 in 2019, 181 in 2020 and 142 youth were recruited in terrorist organizations in 2021. At the same time, till the end of June in 2022, 69 youth have chosen the path of terror.
